As a Pipefitter, you will play a critical role in installing and maintaining ship piping systems. These systems may include steam, heat and power, hot water, hydraulic, air pressure, and oil. Your work will involve planning the layout of pipe sections, cutting and boring holes in bulkheads and decks, and cutting and threading pipes and fittings, including valves, traps, and thermostats. Additionally, you will bend pipes to specified shapes, bolt on pipe-bending fixtures, and bolt or weld brackets to support pipe systems. You will connect pipes to fixtures such as heat exchangers, pumps, tanks, and other ship equipment, and ensure systems are tested for leaks and meet specifications.

Work EnvironmentYou will be working in a shipyard/outdoor environment, supporting work at various locations. The shift is primarily 1st (7-3:30) and occasionally 2nd (3-11), with weekend work typically on Saturdays. Expect to work 40-55 hours per week, depending on workload. There is no specific shift attire.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
