Job Description

Salary: $123,000 - 163,000 per year Requirements:

  • We require a bachelors degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Product Design, or a closely related field; a graduate degree is a plus.
  • We seek at least 8 years of experience in Product Design, Experience Design, Design Strategy, Service Design, or a related discipline, ideally within complex digital consumer products or platforms.
  • We need someone who can operate at a Senior Staff or equivalent strategic level and influence product and experience direction across multiple teams without direct authority.
  • We value deep experience in competitive, comparative, or adjacent-market experience analysis and the ability to turn observations into differentiated strategic insights.
  • We look for strong capability to synthesize large volumes of qualitative and quantitative information into a focused perspective with clear implications and recommendations.
  • We require strategic and systems-thinking skills, including the ability to connect individual experience details to broader customer, platform, market, and business opportunities.
  • We want a proven record of developing and presenting compelling narratives for senior executives and leadership teams, simplifying complex information without losing important nuance.
  • We need strong visual storytelling and communication skills, including the ability to create detailed experience walkthroughs, frameworks, journey comparisons, opportunity maps, executive presentations, and other strategic artifacts.
  • We expect expert knowledge of user experience methods, human-centered design, storytelling, problem framing, journey analysis, concept visualization, and design principles.
  • We look for strong business acumen and the ability to connect design and customer experience observations to business strategy, customer behavior, market dynamics, and measurable outcomes.
Responsibilities:
  • We will have you lead the development of a Consumer Platform-wide competitive experience intelligence capability, establishing a consistent approach to understanding and evaluating competitors, emerging experiences, and changing customer expectations.
  • You will conduct detailed end-to-end competitive experience assessments across key customer journeys, including screen-by-screen analysis of interaction patterns, value propositions, content, visual design, personalization, AI-enabled experiences, onboarding, conversion, engagement, and retention.
  • You will move beyond documenting competitor activity to develop a clear, concise, and differentiated point of view on what matters, why it matters, and what it means for our Consumer Group.
  • You will partner closely with Consumer Group Strategy to identify competitive and market signals that could create new opportunities for our Consumer Platform.
  • You will translate competitive research into strategic opportunity areas, experience principles, hypotheses, and recommendations that help Product and Design teams decide where to invest, respond, differentiate, or lead.
  • You will create compelling executive-level narratives and presentations that distill complex competitive information into clear insights, implications, and recommended actions for our Senior Leadership Team.
  • You will facilitate detailed competitive experience reviews with senior leaders, Product Managers, Design leaders, Marketing leaders, and other stakeholders, guiding discussions from observation to decision and action.
  • You will work with Product and Design leadership to ensure competitive insights lead to clear ownership and follow-through, helping teams convert strategic opportunities into product roadmaps, experience improvements, or future exploration.
